Combine an interview winning resume, a strategic marketing campaign and a powerful interview presentation and you have the ingredients to orchestrate a successful career transition.
Following graduation from Bryant & Stratton College, Tina Fisher-Gonzales had the good fortune of grooming her business acumen in sales & marketing, human resources and recruiting environments. As it turned out, each of those areas would be critical to her success as an entrepreneur in the executive career transition industry.
In the Sales & Marketing Department at Premier Industrial Corporation she was dubbed 'Scoop Morgan' in recognition of her strengths in nurturing relationships with both corporate executives and field support staff that supported her success in gathering information to design and rollout the division's first newsletter.
Determined to build on her experiences outside of Ohio, she relocated to Los Angeles, California. Three days after her arrival, she was placed by a recruiting firm in the Human Resources Department of Mitsui Manufacturers Bank. She later learned that they were all too eager to hire folks with good Midwestern work ethics. Her time there was a meaningful learning ground for cultural diversity and corporate HR practices.
Ultimately, she returned to Cleveland and was recruited to join Ernst & Whinney, which later became Ernst & Young, as Assistant to the National Director, Employee Assistance Program. Her primary role was developing and maintaining relationships with organizations nationwide to support emergency placement of corporate executive team members. She was later selected to join E&Y's internal Executive Relocation department to support newly hired and transferred firm executives.
A self-motivated, determined, entrepreneur at heart, she looked to create a venue that would allow her to contribute strengths cultivated in each of her corporate experiences. After thoughtful planning and risk control management she successfully executed the launching of eXclusively Resumes, February, 1996. Early clients were primarily new graduates and middle management employees. While working with those clients she benefited from an apprenticeship program with a published resume writer based in Atlanta, Georgia. Following completion of the one year mentoring program, she sat for and successfully earned the Certified Professional Resume Writer and Certified Employment Interview Professional designations.
As the first Greater Cleveland Area business owner to secure those designations, she made it her marketing initiative to promote community awareness of this credentialing process in order to assist individuals in selecting a quality firm to support career transition needs. Ambitious marketing efforts resulted in business profile features in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, a televised interview with NewsChannel 5, opportunities to write informational articles for the Plain Dealer Employment Guide, corporate outplacement projects, and an opportunity to train the trainers at Cuyahoga Community College's CareerPlace.
After earning professional designations, services focused primarily on mid-to-senior level executives and included resume and cover letter design, interview coaching, Internet search engine postings and corporate outplacement. It seemed the firm had outgrown the name, 'eXclusively Resumes'. In 2003, the firm name transitioned to CareerComm.com without an interruption to the existing and former client base.
